“When the actress saw her first strands of gray hair, she thought she’d dye” is a pun that has been printed on sevveral images. A “Jumble” puzzle answer was published in many newspapers on March 15, 1965:
   
“What a girl who discovered her first few strands of gray hair thought—SHE’D DYE!”
 
The one-liner became popular again in 2000. “When an actress saw her first strands of gray hair, she thought she’d dye, (Pun of the Day)” was posted to the newsgroup alt.callahans on January 14, 2000.
