“When the government’s boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right…”

“When the government’s boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right is of no consequence” is a political saying that has been printed on many images. “When the government’s boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence”—in quotes, uncredited—was cited by Gary Lloyd in 2000.

“If a jack-boot is at your throat, it matters not if it’s a right boot or a left boot” was posted on the newsgroup alt.fan.ronald-reagan on May 5, 1997. “When the jackboot is on your throat, it doesnt matter much to you if the boot wearer is a right-winger or a left-winger” was posted on the newsgroup ba.broadcast on November 28, 1997. “The way I have heard it in libertarian circles is like this: When there is a boot in your face, what difference whether it is a right boot or a left boot” was posted on the newsgroup alt.politics.libertarian on December 5, 1998.

Your point?  If a jack-boot is at your throat, it matters not if it’s a right boot or a left boot.

I agree with what Edmund (and the Libertarians) say on this; It’s not a question of left or right, but freedom vs non-freedom. Or as I like to say;

When the jackboot is on your throat, it doesnt matter much to you if the boot wearer is a right-winger or a left-winger…

I find the difference between socialism and fascism trivial. The way I have heard it in libertarian circles is like this:

When there is a boot in your face, what difference whether it is a right boot or a left boot.

The Two Boots of Authoritarianism
By Gary Lloyd
“When the government’s boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence.”

Mainstream political pundits waste endless amounts of time and effort condemning, criticizing, and categorizing one political movement or another as right-wing or left-wing.  The merits (or otherwise) of one “wing” over another are a point of never-ending obsession with reporters, academics, and similar self-proclaimed experts.

Many are awakening to the fact that there will be no political solution for the sad state of affairs in the US.  Voting is just the slave’s suggestion box and many are finally realizing that it does not matter for which of the two political parties in the US you vote.  They both do nothing but increase the size of government and its control over your life.  As Gary Lloyd said, “When the government’s boot is on your throat, whether it is a left boot or a right boot is of no consequence.”

When the Government’s Boot is on your Throat…
I got this image from a Facebook friend. Many of us are only beginning to realize just how true this is.
