“When we lose God, it is not God who is lost”

“When we lose God, it is not God who is lost” is an inspirational saying that has been printed on many images. Authorship is unknown.

“When we lose God, it is not God who is lost. —Anonymous” was printed in the book Days of Healing Days of Joy: Daily Meditations for Adult Children (1987) by Earnie Larsen and Carol Larsen Hegarty. The saying means that God is never lost; if one loses God, it is because of the actions of one’s self. God can be found again, if that is what one wants.

When I ask a person to tell me what they are looking for in life, some will say they are searching for God as if He could get lost; when we lose God, it is not God who is lost. He will become real when we confess our sins, accept Christ as Savior, and release the bondage of the past.
