“Who do monsters buy their cookies from?”/“The Ghoul Scouts.”

Girl Scout Cookies are sometimes joked to be “Ghoul Scout Cookies,” especially around Halloween. “Ghoul Scout Cookies” was cited in print in 1963 and there’s a riddle:

Q: Who do monsters buy their cookies from?
A: The Ghoul Scouts.

“Q: What’s a monster’s favorite after-school snack? A: Ghoul Scout cookies” was published in the Chicago (IL) Tribune on October 27, 1991. “Who do monsters buy their cookies from? The Ghoul Scouts” was published in Boys’ Life magazine in July 1997.

Wikipedia: Girl Scout Cookies
Girl Scout Cookies are cookies sold by Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) as one of its major fundraisers for local Scout units. Members of the GSUSA have been selling cookies since 1917 to raise funds. Girls who participate can earn prizes for their efforts. There are also troop incentives if the troop as a whole does well. As of 2007, sales were estimated at about 200 million boxes per year.
