“Why did the chef cook his eggs on the golf course?”/“Because he wanted them par-boiled.”

“Parboiling” has nothing to do with a golf “par,” but there are jokes. “Par-boiled: mistakenly put a golf ball in the saucepan instead of an egg” was posted on the newsgroup alt.possessive.its.has.no.apostrophe on January 30, 2006. “PARBOILED: Playing a round of golf on a very hot and humid day” was posted on Twitter on September 30, 2012.

A riddle was posted on Worst Jokes Ever in 2018:

Q: Why did the chef cook his eggs on the golf course?
A: Because he wanted them par-boiled!

Wikipedia: Parboiling
Parboiling (or leaching) is the partial boiling of food as the first step in cooking. The word is from the Old French ‘parboillir’ (to boil thoroughly) but by mistaken association with ‘part’ it has acquired its current meaning.
