“Why did the marble countertop leave the kitchen?”/“It was tired of being taken for granite.”

Marble countertops are not the same as granite countertops. A riddle is:
   
Q: Why did the marble countertop leave the kitchen?
A: It was tired of being taken for granite.
   
“Taken for granite” sounds like “taken for granted.” The riddle (in slightly different forms) has been cited in print since at least 2012 and 2015.
