“Why do people come back from baby changing stations with the same baby?”

Many places have “baby changing stations,” and there’s an obvious joke. “And yet, every single one of those young men left with the exact same baby they went in with!  The babies weren’t changed at all!” was posted on the newsgroup alt.callahans on August 23, 1999.

“RT @gau3: After all those trips to the baby changing station, I still end up with the same baby” was posted on Twitter by iPrash on January 23, 2010. “Why do people who use baby changing stations always come back with the same baby?” was posted on Reddit—Showerthoughts on August 11, 2015.

Estron hears Brice D. Fleckenstein discussing:
>  That’s starting to change - all of the Ryan’s Steakhouses I’ve been to
> in the last couple years include changing stations in the guy’s restroom
> now.

He turns and declares, “They’re frauds!  Frauds, I say!

“I was at a local restaurant when nature called most urgently.  From my place of refuge in the Room of Rest, I observed several responsible young fathers tote their bundles of somewhat-diluted joy in.

“Now it’s called a ‘baby changing station,’ isn’t it?  Isn’t it?

“And yet, every single one of those young men left with the exact same baby they went in with!  The babies weren’t changed at all!”

Why is it that when someone goes into the baby changing room with a baby, they always come out with the same baby?

I bought a baby changing mat.
But it’s still the same baby.
