“I would never have believed that a few weeks of uncut hair would weigh 20 pounds”

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic resulted in quarantines, and many people got fat. Barbershops were closed, and many people grew their hair long.

“Hard to believe that five weeks of uncut hair and unshaved beard would weigh a stone, but who am I to argue with the bathroom scales?” was posted on Twitter by Donal O’Keeffe on April 26, 2020. (One stone equals 14 pounds.)

“I would never have believed that 8 weeks of uncut hair would weigh 21lbs but if thats what the scales say then I guess it’s true.” was posted on Twitter by Col on May 26, 2020. “I would never have believed that a few weeks of uncut hair would weigh 20 pounds but that’s what the scale says” was posted on Facebook by Karen Yuter Abrams on May 29, 2020.

I would never have believed that 8 weeks of uncut hair could weigh 14 pounds but, if that’s what the scale says, it must be true. ... ... Thanks, Heather

I would never have believed that 10 weeks of uncut hair would weigh over 20 pounds, but if that’s what the scale says it must be right. 🤷🏼‍♀️
