“You’ll have a whole eternity to think inside the box”

Businesses sometimes encourage people to “think outside the box” (think unconventionally) to find solutions. “You’ll have a whole eternity to think inside the box” is a popular poster—with the words inside a box that is shaped like a coffin. The design was made by Wordboner and has been cited in print since April 7, 2010.

So, while you’re still living, think outside that box.

Whole eternity to think inside the box?
By Prof Gary | November 19, 2012
Thinking outside the box (or thinking beyond the box) is to think differently, unconventionally, or from a new perspective. This phrase often refers to novel or creative thinking. The term is thought to derive from management consultants in the 1970s and 1980s challenging their clients to solve the “nine dots” puzzle, whose solution requires some lateral thinking.

If you never venture outside the box, you will probably not be creative. But if you never get inside the box, you will certainly be stupid.

Daily Inspiration: You’ll have a whole eternity to think inside the box.
By: Jennine Jacob
Anyone can think “inside the box” it doesn’t take much to come up with an idea that’s already been thought before. But thinking outside the box? That’s a challenge. That means taking risks. That’s how progress is made.
