“Your call is important to us. But not important enough for us to employ staff to answer it”

When a phone line is busy, a company’s customer service line often has a recorded announcement, “Your call is important to us. Please stay on the line…” The wait can be a very long time.

“I also like ‘your call is important to us’ (But not quite important enough to employ enough people to answer it in less than 15 minutes)” was posted on Twitter by Colm Nugent on July 7, 2020. “Your call is important to us. But not important enough for us to hire enough people to answer it” was posted on Twitter by MF Nickster on October 14, 2020. “Please hold. Your call is important to us, but not important enough to hire more staff to answer it” was posted on Twitter by Mark Carroll on January 5, 2022. “Your call is important to us… But not important enough for us to employ a sufficient number of staff to answer it” was posted on Sickipedia on September 12, 2022.

“Your call is important to us. Please stay on the line until your call is no longer important to you” is a related joke.

So true.
If demand is always higher than normal, than that’s normal.
I also like “your call is important to us”

“Thank you for calling. You are a valued customer. Your call is important to us. But not important enough to pay somebody to answer it. Our profit is much more valuable than your time. Please follow the prompts, as our menu has changed. If you want a real human, too bad.”
