“ZOOT (NOUN): WHEN YOU TOOT ON A ZOOM CALL” was posted on Twitter by El Arroyo (an image is shown of the message on the restaurant’s sign) on April 19, 2020. That is, when you’re on a Zoom call and you fart (toot). Zoom became popular in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic.
   
“Zoot” (Zoom + toot) is a portmanteau word that has been used mostly just in this joke. “Zoot” is also a regular word with several different meanings, such as a “zoot suit” or a marijuana cigarette.
