“Now that we have everyone washing their hands correctly. Next week: turn signals”

The 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak came with many public announcements to wash hands. Many people used this to joke about learning other basic things.

“For those of you that just adopted washing your hands, next week we will move on to using turn signals and not talking on your cell phone in a restaurant. #AdultingForDummies #TheMoreYouKnow” was posted on Twitter by Fred Rewey on March 16, 2020. “Now that we have everyone washing their hands correctly. Next Week: Turn Signals!!!” was posted on Facebook by Colleen Cannam-Ladner on March 17, 2020.

“Since everyone’s now washing their hands, we’ll be working on shapes & colors next week” is a similar joke.
