“Since everyone’s now washing their hands, we’ll be working on shapes & colors next week”

The 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak came with many public announcements to wash hands. Many people had learned this in kindergarten (at the latest).

“Since everyone is now washing their hands like they were supposed to, next week we will be working on shapes and colors” was posted on Twitter by Melissa on March 14, 2020. “Now that everyone is washing their hands, we will work on shapes and colors next week” was posted on Facebook by Lee Harkins at about the same time.

“Now that we have everyone washing their hands correctly. Next week: turn signals” is a similar joke.

Wikipedia: 2019-20 coronavirus outbreak
The 2019–20 coronavirus outbreak is an ongoing global outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by the SARS coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China on 1 December 2019, spreading to every province-level administrative division of the country by 29 January 2020. On 30 January, the World Health Organization declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern following an increase in the number of cases outside China.
