“Everything’s funnier when you’re not allowed to laugh”

“Everything’s funnier when you’re not allowed to laugh” is a saying that’s appropriate in many situations (such as government, business and schools) and that has been printed on many images. “Things always seem funnier when you’re not allowed to laugh” was printed in a 1953 book, but the expression became popular by about 2009.

It’s strange how everything is always funnier when you’re not allowed to laugh. It’s like in church when you’re sitting there watching a bee crawl up someone’s neck sitting in front of you. You know you shouldn’t laugh, but it always seems that much funnier just because it’s happening in church, and that’s the one place you’re not supposed to laugh.
