“Thieves steal and run; politicians run and steal”

“Bank robbers steal, then run. Politicians run (for office), then steal.” This political saying does not appear to have a known origin.

“Professional robbers steal and run. Most politicians run for office to steal” was cited in 2010 on a website from the Philippines.

@diedagum There’s only a small difference between politicians and bank robbers. Bank robbers steal then run. Politicians run then steal. 😊

I remember a joke about the difference between robbers and politicians. It said that robbers steal and then run while politicians run before they steal. It’s such a sad reality to think that we have really corrupt government leaders.
