"World's Most Popular Hotel" is a new slogan, since 2002.
Welcome to New York's Hotel Pennsylvania, The World's Most Popular Hotel®. As one of the five largest hotels in Manhattan, the property holds an impressive history and offers an excellent Midtown location directly opposite Madison Square Garden and Amtrak's Penn Station. Our location on 7th Avenue at 33rd Street is also within walking distance of the business, entertainment and fashion districts, including Macy's, the Empire State Building, Times Square and the Jacob Javits Center. In fact, New York's Hotel Pennsylvania is central to many attractions and events!
Built in 1919 by the Pennsylvania Railroad, New York's Hotel Pennsylvania is one of New York City's largest hotels. Designed by the renowned firm of McKim, Mead and White, which also completed other landmark hotels such as the Waldorf Astoria.
Bounded on the west by Seventh Avenue and on the north and south by 33rd and 32nd Streets respectively, the building was erected on a site measuring 200 x 400 feet. It has 22 floors from street level to roof inclusive and three levels in the penthouse. On the ground floor there are direct entrances each from 32nd and 33rd Streets to the lobby and a special entrance on the 33rd Street side for the ballroom floor. The hotel is famous not only for its grandeur but also for its place in the world of entertainment.

I had the pleasure of staying at this fine hotel in 2004. The hotel’s location is brilliant, and the rooms top notch.... but to call it the worlds most popular hotel is a bit of a long shot....
Everyone going to NY should stay at least once in the Hotel Pennsylvania. It is not the best hotel in the city but it is part of the cities history.
It is really a nice hotel with a lot of history which also means a lot of experience in the business.
