The European Union (EU) was formally established when the Maastricht Treaty on November 1, 1993. Some critics of the EU have dubbed it the “Evil Union.”

Although the people in the North East did not want a regional assembly they were not allowed to vote on that question because the EU (Evil Union) would not allow it.
