“Be honest, you haven’t even walked a mile in your own shoes”

“Don’t judge a man until you have walked a mile in his shoes” is an old proverb. “Be honest, you haven’t even walked a mile in your own shoes” was printed on an ecard and was first cited on Twitter on January 29, 2013.

The jocular saying was illustrated on the website I Can Has Cheezburger?. However, a subsequent Cheezburger illustration showed that the average American walks 2.47 miles a day.
