“Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability” is a summer saying that has been printed on many images.
     
“Deep summer is when laziness finds respectability. BERN WILLIAMS” was printed in the Reader’s Digest in 1998. Just above this is a citation from Sam Keen’s book, To Love and Be Loved (1997). American author Sam Keen is often given credit for the saying, but it does not appear in this or any other of Keen’s books.
