Fauxterity (faux + austerity)

“Fauxterity” (faux austerity) is fake austerity; a country might give the impression of cutting back, but this might not be the case. “Fauxterity” has been cited in print since at least May 14, 2012.
The term was popularized by the April 27, 2013 article on Zero Hedge, “Europe’s Fauxterity In Three Simple Charts.”
A similar term is “fauxsterity.”

Has anyone else used the term “fauxterity” yet in reference to the Greek Austerity measures cause I’m going to trademark it.

Lenders Beware! - 26 March 2013
That the powers-that-be, having driven the masses through the drip-drip torment of ‘Fauxterity’ in the attempt to save their own banks, have only now dared to try to implement such a process of ‘bail-in’ in a small , politically-impotent country such as Cyprus certainly reeks of hypocrisy and double standards.

To everyone else: please complain about austerity louder - maybe it can mask the fact that you never actually implemented any in the first place.
