French Fry Holder

A “french fry holder” is a car appliance that can hold french fries. “Someone needs to invent a french-fry holder for cars” was cited in print in 1995. The itme began to be popularly sold by 2005.
McDonald’s of Japan began giving away french fry holders in April 2013.

Starting next Wednesday, April 24, McDonald’s Japan is giving away french fry holders for cars with purchase of a value meal and a large order of fries as part of their “potato holder” campaign. But the “potato holder” can do more than just hold potatoes. So much more.
The first time we heard of french fry holders for cars was in 2008, although that model seems to no longer be available. Other french fry holders include this, this, and this.

Up until this very moment, eating french fries while riding bicycles and driving automobiles has been a terrible inconvenience for humans everywhere. But now, McDonald’s Japan has a solution: the potato holder. For a limited time starting April 24, the company has announced that its locations in Japan are giving away these french fry holders to anyone who orders a value meal. And these are a sight to behold: red and emblazoned with the McDonald’s logo to look like a regular McDonald’s fry container.
