“From here. it’s possible” (Texas Tech slogan)

Texas Tech University began a campaign featuring the slogan “From here, it’s possible” in 2006. The slogan highlights the university’s many degree programs where students can begin successful careers.
Wikipedia: Texas Tech University
Texas Tech University is a public, coeducational, research university in Lubbock, Texas. Established on February 10, 1923, and originally known as Texas Technological College, it is the leading institution of the Texas Tech University System and has the sixth largest student body in the state of Texas. With 1,839 acres (7.44 km2), it has the second largest contiguous campus in the United States and is the only school in Texas to house an undergraduate institution, law school, and medical school at the same location.
The university offers degrees in more than 150 courses of study through 13 colleges and hosts 60 research centers and institutes. Texas Tech University has awarded over 200,000 degrees since 1927, including over 40,000 graduate and professional degrees. The Carnegie Foundation classifies Texas Tech as having “high research activity.” Research projects in the areas of epidemiology, pulsed power, grid computing, nanophotonics, and wind energy are among the most prominent at the university.

The Spanish Renaissance themed campus, described by author James Michener as “the most beautiful west of the Mississippi until you get to Stanford”, has been awarded the Green Star Award for excellence in grounds-keeping, and has been noted for possessing a public art collection among the ten best in the United States.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are members of the Big 12 Conference (South Division) and compete in Division I for all varsity sports. The Red Raiders football team has made 31 bowl appearances, which is 19th most of any university. The men’s basketball team has made 14 appearances in the NCAA Division I Tournament. Bob Knight, the winningest coach in men’s NCAA D-1 basketball history, served as the team’s head coach from 2001 to 2008. The Lady Raiders women’s basketball team won the 1993 women’s national championship. In 1999, Texas Tech’s Goin’ Band from Raiderland received the Sudler Trophy, which is awarded to “recognize collegiate marching bands of particular excellence”.
Though the majority of the university’s students originate in the southwestern United States, the school has served students from all 50 states and more than 100 foreign countries. Texas Tech University alumni and former students have gone on to prominent careers in government, business, science, medicine, education, sports, and entertainment.
Motto: From here, it’s possible.
Texas Tech University
From here, it’s possible.
Our Tagline is a Constant Reminder to Us All
Our tagline – From here, it’s possible – quickly communicates to all audiences that the tradition of fostering student and professional success at Texas Tech creates a culture where anything is possible. From here, it’s possible to pursue over 150 different degree programs or to pursue a medical, law or a performing arts career. From here it’s possible to become the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, to become an astronaut, a singer with the Metropolitan Opera or to discover cures for life-threatening diseases. From here it’s possible for a first-generation college student to realize potential and discover passion. From here is anywhere that Texas Tech has a presence in the region, state, nation and world. It’s not just what is here, it’s what happens here that we need to keep uppermost in our minds and share with the rest of the world.

New Logo Campaign Boosts Tech’s Image
MANY SOUTH PLAINS residents are alumni of one of our two Texas Tech universities and we all realize the prominent place the university system plays in the economic health of the region. Many of us watch with interest the goings-on of the two universities.
An encouraging and long-overdue effort on campus is the new public relations campaign to increase the visibility of Texas Tech’s academic and research accomplishments.
While it is an educational powerhouse in West Texas, research has shown that Texas Tech’s reputation among Texans outside our region rests mainly with the Red Raider sports teams.
“Being in the Big 12 and having a reputation as a sports power is a real asset for us. But higher education is increasingly competitive,” according to Texas Tech Regent Windy Sitton, who best summed up the situation:
“If Texas Tech wants to continue to attract the best students, highly accomplished faculty and the large donations that are the lifeblood of state universities these days,” Ms. Sitton said, “we need to enhance our academic reputation throughout the state and nation.”
Enter the visibility campaign with the slogan, “From here, it’s possible.”
Texas Tech has been getting its house in order so that when folks take a look, they’ll be impressed.
