Hustle Town or Hustletown (Houston nickname)

“Hustle Town” (or “Hustletown”) is a nickname for the city of Houston. There was a night club (ca. 2000) called Hustle Town in Houston. The nickname “Hustle Town” is one of several Houston nicknames used in hip-hop, including “H-Town” and “Screwston.”
South Park Mexican (Carlos Coy) released an album called Hustle Town in 1998, and he either invented or (at least) popularized the nickname.

He later released his second album, Hustle Town, through his label with distribution in Houston under Southwest Wholesale. In 2000 he signed a joint venture between his label and Universal Music Group which earned him a $500,000 advance and national distribution.[3] [4] In total he has released nine albums.

SPM’s second solo album. Hustle Town was named after the city SPM was born in, Hustletown AKA Houston. The album features popular hit track “Mary-Go-Round”, which later became a theme song at the SPM concerts.
Other featured hits include Streets on Beats and Block of Rock. His lyrical & witty writing skills began to catch the attention of audiences across the region, but it wasn’t until the production of this album that SPM began producing his own instrumentals. Still young & fresh in the rap game, SPM again brings hardcore rap to the table with fresh beats to accompany them. Hustle Town remains one of Dope House Records best selling album.

“Hustle Town”
[SPM talking]
Eh he he he he
Hustle Town my city maan!
Born and raised baby
Yo I dedicate this jam to all the single mothers
Raisin’ men in a big city
I know it’s hard
Let ‘em know what’s up Filero
[Chorus: SPM]
Hustle Town Hustle Town
The city of dreams
Where we creep through the hood
And we serve them dope fiends
Hustle Town
The shit don’t stop
Roll rental cars
And we keep the glock cocked
