“In 1775, they tried to take our guns. We shot them”

“In 1775, they tried to take our guns. We shot them” is a pro-gun saying that has been printed on many images. The saying implies that Americans in the Revolutionary War would be against modern gun control laws.

“IN 1775 THEY TRIED TO TAKE OUR GUNS. WE SHOT THEM” (shown on an image) was posted on Facebook by Nine Line Apparel on March 28, 2018. “Man at the bar wearing a t-shirt: ‘In 1775, they tried to take our guns - we shot them’. Ah, America” was posted on X/Twitter by Eliot Andersen on May 19, 2018.

I don’t need to hear from nor place any merit on a Brit’s opinion on our 2A. We fought them for that right among others. When they tried to take our guns at Concord and Lexington we shot them. I don’t give a rat’s ass what he has to say.
