Tough Shit, America (Transportation Security Administration or TSA nickname)

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) began in 2001 under the U.S. Department of Transportation; in 2003, TSA was moved to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. New airport scanners and full-body pat-downs were administered in November 2010. Many air travelers objected to the revealing scanners and the aggressive pat-downs.
The nickname “Tough Shit, America” for “TSA” has been used since at least March 20, 2006, but became popular in November 2010 with the new procedures.
Other TSA nicknames include “Thousands Standing Around” (since at least November 15, 2002), “Too Stupid for Arby’s” (since at least April 20, 2005), “Totally Stupid Agency/Assholes” (since at least February 3, 2006), “Tray Stackers Association” (since April 4, 2006), “Total Sexual Assault” (since at least November 14, 2010) and “Thugs and Sexual Abusers/Assailants/Assaulters” (since at least November 23, 2010).
Wikipedia: Transportation Security Administration
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is an agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security responsible for security in all modes of transportation in the U.S.
The TSA was created as part of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act passed by the U.S. Congress, and signed into law by President George W. Bush on November 19, 2001. Originally organized in the U.S. Department of Transportation, the TSA was moved to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 25, 2003.

Tough S—, America: More TSA Follies as Agency Posts Secret Procedures Online
By Debbie Schlussel
Aren’t you glad the S in TSA stands for Security?  Because that means that the TSA would never post classified and confidential security measures, details, and screening procedures online for the world–and the terrorists . . . and ABC News–to see.

Tough S—, America: TSA Hires Convicted Felon Robber, Forces Airport to Issue Top Secret Clearance
By Debbie Schlussel
If the TSA will hire a convicted felon robber, who won’t they hire?  And why is the TSA screening us, when the agency refuses to screen . . . its own employees?

Story #6: TSA Stands For: Tough S—-, America!
RUSH: I think I finally figured out what “T-S-A” stands for. I was having trouble remembering it all day long, but I think I got it now. The T is for “tough,” and the A is for “America.” You figure out what the S is.
