“Hoarders suffer from ‘stock home’ syndrome”

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic caused many people to hoard. “Stock home syndrome” (for Stockholm syndrome) was a popular pun, although it had been used earlier.

“Are we really still not calling hoarding ‘Stock Home Syndrome’?” was posted on Twitter by Hip Hop Anonymous on June 28, 2012. “Who called it hoarding and not stock home syndrome?” was posted on Twitter by Lex on December 20, 2014.

“People who are enjoying lockdown have ‘stuck home’ syndrome” is another Stockholm syndrome pun.

The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic is an ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The outbreak was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei, China, in December 2019, and was recognised as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 March 2020.

Wikipedia: Stockholm syndrome
Stockholm syndrome is a condition in which hostages develop a psychological alliance with their captors during captivity. Emotional bonds may be formed, between captor and captives, during intimate time together, but these are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims.
